Q105 Mariner's Compass Stars
We will be using one of Carol Doak’s Star blocks to construct this stunning quilt. The star block consists of only seven pieces in each section, which appears to be complex but is easily constructed using a paper piecing method. Whoa!!! Don't turn away now! Paper piecing is NOT a dirty word! Just look at those star points… You couldn't get those sharp points any other way. This is a paper piecing project for both beginners and experienced paper piecers alike. Foundation paper purchase required.

We wanted to name this class "New York State of Mind," but I think that's been used somewhere before! But anyway… the way Sarah approaches a New York Beauty is just amazing! In this workshop class you'll certainly learn the traditional New York Beauty techniques, but you'll also see points in a whole new way. Q15 Basic Thread Painting
While this summer's project is slightly smaller, you'll still learn all of Joyce's techniques… And see what all the talk is about! We'll start with the plain panel and transform it with thread painting into something amazing! You can do this!!! This class will include thread selection, stitching techniques and embellishing. Q32 Rule Your Rulers
Joyce is in love with this new foot and rulers, designed specifically to help you with your straight line work when you are machine quilting. Curves, too! With these tools, the foot allows you to sew right along the edge of the ruler, and hold the ruler in place so it doesn't slip under your needle. Join Joyce and learn how to keep everything straight! Q5 Machine Quilting
Okay, the quilt top is done...what do you do now? We'll talk about layering your quilt and basting, planning your quilting patterns, choosing threads and then finally, using your free-motion skills and/or BSR to execute some simple quilting patterns. Beginners will feel more comfortable after taking this techniques class, which is lecture demo and hands on.

Q8 Memory Quilt
T-shirt quilts are always a favorite way to commemorate a special experience, high school or sports career or hobby, but they aren't the only way. This quilt is doable by anyone with a just little quilting knowledge, and is the perfect gift to send away to college with that favorite grad. Sally will also discuss how you might make this quilt with other "memories" such as hand written greetings, photo transfer images, and other types of clothing. See how you can make your memories even more special!

Q2 “Sew” Relaxing
Join us as we open one of our classrooms up to anyone who wants to come in and sew or quilt or whatever. You'll have a place to spread out and work to your heart's content - away from the phone and other distractions of home. The coffee's always on so bring your projects ... a friend or two and lunch. We'll provide the space and any number of folks to offer an opinion or advice on your current project! And...we might just throw in some informal tips, techniques or sneak peeks at upcoming cool stuff. "Sew," come kick back and spend a relaxing day (or part thereof!) and stitch away! You must register ahead of time for this class!
