BOMs & Other Stuff!
$5 "Practically Free" Quilt Block
If you're new to the way we work this, it goes like this: The first month (January) you purchase a kit for the first block of the quilt for $5. Bring it back - completed - the next month and receive the kit for the next block for free! There are a few other easy rules, but that's it in a nutshell. We've got the quilt planned, the fabric ordered, and it'll be up in the shop for you to see by the first of the year. This is always a fun program for newbies and experienced quilters alike. Q2 "Sew" Relaxing
Join us as we open one of our classrooms up to anyone who wants to come in and sew or quilt or whatever. You'll have a place to spread out and work to your heart's content - away from the phone and other distractions of home. The coffee's always on so bring your projects ... a friend or two and lunch. We'll provide the space and any number of folks to offer an opinion or advice on your current project! And...we might just throw in some informal tips, techniques or sneak peeks at upcoming cool stuff. "Sew," come kick back and spend a relaxing day (or part thereof!) and stitch away! You must register ahead of time for this class!
Fridays - Almost every week!
Comfort Quilts meets each month to make quilts for children who are in need of the comforting hug a quilt brings. Mark your calendars and plan to stop in and lend a helping hand...and make some new friends in the process! Note: Comfort Quilts is in need of donations of quality quilting cottons. Since most of their quilts go to children they prefer bright, happy fabrics, but some of the quilts go to adults, teens and seniors, too, so they can use fabric for any age group. Please drop off any donations on the second Monday to Byrne Sewing Connection from 10-12 noon. Thanks!
Mondays - 1/13, 2/10, 3/9, 4/13 - 10-2pm

Donations are much appreciated and will go towards the shipping of the quilts to their final destinations. Join us for a fun day and a great way to help! Be sure to register so we know how many to expect!

How Can You Help
Quilters are known for their generosity when it comes to helping those less fortunate or those stricken by illness or disaster. We have a number of charitable projects going on in the shop that we thought you might like to know about and possibly get involved in. Some, like those listed above, have regularly scheduled meetings and so they are easy to post. Others meet at a random time convenient for those involved or, we serve as a drop off site for things you do at home and we deliver to those in need. At any rate, we wanted you to be aware of these efforts in case you were able to help out. If you see something that interests you, let us know and we'll keep you in the loop as far as upcoming meeting times. In addition to Comfort Quilts and Quilts for Kids - some other efforts are:
- Cozy Cases and Case for Smiles
- Reach to Recovery Tote Bags
- Developmental Hearts for Premies
- Doggie neckerchiefs and pet food collection
- Angel gowns
- Food Larder donations
