Q124 New Twists on Diamond Piecing
The iconic Lone Star is the most recognized design using the diamond shape in classic and modern quilts. But the Lone Star is not the only design that is the diamond's best friend. There are other diamond quilt design variations. These quilts look complicated, but they don't have to be. This class will offer instruction on strip piecing diamonds with strategies for matching diamond seams, maintaining uniform shape and angles and finishing with a flat, even quilt top. Learn to create bold, graphic quilts with 2.5-inch strips or strips in the size of your choosing. We will cover a number of design variations including changing up the angle of the diamonds and inverting the orientation of the star blades. Includes a table calculating quilt size by strip width and number of diamonds so you can design the diamond quilt that is right for you.
